Free Amazon Keyword Tool

Amazon is a force to be recognized. But don't worry. I am not suggesting that you or anyone try to take on a giant of their caliber. It would be crazy. But, what if there was a way to see what is selling best on Amazon, and then, structure your products to those keywords?

In the last several years, Amazon has become the largest online retailer for both digital and physical products. Also, Amazon is the third most popular search engine in the world. What is great news is that the people using Amazon as their search engine, are typically buyers. They are looking for something, and when they find it, they will buy it.

So, how do we get you to the top of the Amazon search rankings? There are 2 ways to try this. First, look at the top items in your niche, one by one, and see what keywords they have optimized. Second, find an Amazon keyword tool, and let it do the heavy lifting for you. There are several Amazon keyword tools out there. Each has its own merits. But, recently I have found a free Amazon keyword tool that allows users to search a keyword's results and show which are worth pursuing.

Merchant Words is the tool I am referring to. They are in beta test mode now. This means that they are still perfecting their keyword tool. However, it did have several features available in beta that make it worth trying out.

For instance, you search for a keyword. Let's say "coaching." It will show Amazon searches for coaching and any keyword that has coaching in the title. It then will rank them, and show them in the order you desire: ascending, descending, or alphabetically. You can then download them into a CSV file for Excel and keep them for future reference. Merchant Words uses a scoring system of 10-100 to rank Amazon searches. The top is of course 100 and then scores the rest from there. Although the scoring is a little bit broad, for a free keyword tool, this is still a good way to get started.

Click here to look at Merchant Words.

And after you have found the keywords you want to use, Amazon has a blog page that shows you how to utilize your keywords in an effective way. Click here for the blog post.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
