Free Kindle E-book: Magic of Impromptu Speaking

Hello fellow coaches,

Welcome back to Free Coaching Resources. It was a wild time during and after the live webinar we did last week. I am finally getting back to whatever normal is. If you missed our live webinar, the replay is still up, but the special offer has expired.

Today's free resource comes to us by way of Amazon Kindle, and is a very valuable resource for coaches to have. Impromptu speaking is a priceless tool to build your coaching practice. Maybe when you decided to become a life coach, you did not think that public speaking would be a necessary skill set. But, it is the most valuable "secret weapon" to building a thriving coaching practice.

Kindle author Andrii Sedniev covers the basics plus the finer points of impromptu speaking in his book "Magic of Impromptu Speaking: Create a Speech That Will Be Remembered for Years in Under 30 Seconds."

Click here for this amazing ebook

What if you are asked to fill in for a late or no show speaker at an event? Would you be prepared? This is the opportunity of a lifetime if you can give an impromptu speech that is convincing to the audience. Or, it can be a career buster, if you blow the opportunity.

Andrii's book can help you master the art of impromptu speaking. Whether it is a small group or a conference speech, being able to handle a task like this will separate you from the coaches who cannot.

If you are in Toastmasters, you are probably familiar with Table Topics. Table Topics is a short impromptu speaking exercise that Toastmasters practice to be able to answer questions off the cuff, without preparations.

But, unlike Table Topics, Andrii's book goes many steps further to explain how to incorporate valuable tips into your impromptu speaking. He covers many different situations and how to handle them. He also gives practice exercises to make sure you are comfortable with doing it.

Although I've been a member of Toastmasters for 3 years now, I did learn several new things about impromptu speaking in this book.

Don't wait too long to get this free Kindle ebook. It is on a temporary free basis, meaning that in a few days it will go back to regular price.

Labor Day Weekend is almost upon us here in the US. Please have a safe and happy holiday weekend.

As always, we wish you More Clients, More Money, and More Life!

Respectfully yours,

Steve Davis

Free e-book: Pinterest- Fun & Profit

Hello fellow coaches,

Sometimes the very thing I'm looking for falls into my lap, and even better, I can share it in this blog. That's what happened with today's Free Coaching Resource. I had put learning Pinterest on my to do list some time ago, but it was moved to the back burner. I had read one book on it, but it was entirely from a user perspective and not a business one. My teenage daughters use Pinterest, but purely from the standpoint of posting and sharing funny pictures. I was beginning to think that Pinterest is only for people to share recipes, pictures, and funny stories. There's nothing wrong with that, but if that were the case, I'd have no desire to join Pinterest.

Today on Book Gorilla, Lambert Klein's book "Pinterest For Beginners: Fun & Profit" was on the free Kindle book list. This is an excellent resource for learning Pinterest, and also finding out if it can benefit your coaching practice. I was surprised by some of the stats in this book:

  • 68.2% of Pinterest users are women (some sources say 87%)
  • 97% of Facebook fans of Pinterest are women
  • 28.1% of users on Pinterest have an annual household income of over $100,000 USD
  • 50% of Pinterest users have children

Now this is beginning to look appealing to me. Perhaps even another potential lead source. As I continued reading, there were even more interesting statistics, by way of age demographics:

  • ages 12-17         4.1%
  • ages 18-24        17.3%
  • ages 25-34        27.4%
  • ages 35-44        22.1%
  • ages 45-54        17.9%

Now the demographics are coming into sharper focus. This is definitely a viable social media network. But, how do you tap it? Fortunately, the author has an entire chapter of Marketing on Pinterest. Also, he does not sugar coat the statistics. Even though this is an incredibly qualified potential lead source, you cannot just go out like a spammer and see any lasting results.

According to Lambert, you have to recommend and suggest. That is even more effective if it is being done from a 3rd person party. Spammers will not do any good in the Pinterest universe. So, I had to ditch the idea of just running out and promoting every product and affiliate product I coud think of. Drats, spoiled again. Lol.

The most effective way to use Pinterest from a business standpoint is to utilize it to drive traffic to your blog. Other ways are: non-profits, freelancers, and authors promoting books. This narrows it down somewhat, but I think it still could be a benefit to life coaches.

The author even gives links to learn the more advanced Pinterest strategies.

Free tool that lets you do screen shots and screen videos

It's been a while since I have posted on Free Coaching Resources. We had to upgrade some IT procedures on our website as well as our blog. But, we are back now and have an excellent tool to help even the most basic beginners do screen shots and screen videos.

The people at Tech Smith (http://www.techsmith.com/) have several tools that can be used to capture, record, and even edit screen shots and videos. Their program Jing, however, is one that I really enjoy using. Jing has a free option that you can use without having to upgrade. There is an upgraded paid version, which if you are doing longer videos, is very useful as well.

Jing has been around for a while, but sometimes the best coaching resources are the ones we rediscover. It has a myriad of uses, each of which are outstanding in their own right.

If you wish do do a short video explaining a step in software, it is entirely possible to do so with Jing. The free version allows you 2 minutes of video time where you can also add your own audio, explaining any instructions needed. When you are done recording, your video is stored on Screen Cast with a download video which can be forwarded so others can view your video. The free version also has a cap on the MB allowed on the storage, but as far as free coaching resources go, I feel this is a must have for the beginner to the intermediate user.

Their program is very user friendly, with helpful tutorial videos that are concise and accurate.

Click here to download the free version of Jing

They have separate versions for PC and Mac, so this is a universal product.

Recently, I found it very helpful when we were having a few IT issues. I was able to do short videos of what a program was doing and send it with my support ticket. This saves the headache of having to type out everything that you are experiencing, and perhaps having a miscommunication with support staff.

If you work with people who may not be as technologically advanced as you, or in my case, people who are far more technologically advanced, this is a blood pressure saving resource. Lol, just kidding, but some of my programmers and support staff get frustrated with my lack of programming expertise. This handy tool saves tempers on both sides of the issue.

Try Jing out and let me know what you think of it. This will definitely be used with my clients as we increase our catalog of products on our own website.

If you have not downloaded the free coaching resources, look at the top left of your screen and fill out the form. You will be guided to where the download page is. Or, you can also get them at www.100coachingtips.com  We have over $1700 in free coaching tools and resources available for download.

Also, we have a webinar coming up on August 22 at 6pm PDT. This will be a live interactive webinar with a Q&A session at the end.

If you wish to contact me, please do so at steve@100coachingtips.com  I'm always happy to hear from you.

Wishing you More Clients, More Money, and More Life!

Respectfully yours,

Steve Davis
