Are you getting paid what you are worth?

Hello fellow coaches,

One of the most common questions that I encounter is "How can I get paid what I'm worth for my coaching?" This question, or one very similar is asked on an almost daily basis.

It is a tragedy that the average median income of a coach is $20,000 USD. This is below the poverty level in the United States. Most coaches are struggling just to pay the bills, and have no money left over to really live.

Yet, at the same time, there are some coaches in the life coaching industry that consistently make 6 and 7 figures each year.

Why is there such a disparity in income?

The answer to this question would take up an entire book. There are many facets to the answer to this simple question. But, one of the leading reasons why coaches don't make more money is that they have their own issues with money. Issues that deal with feeling deserving to make more money, or not being able to conquer their own issues with money.

This Saturday, March 29,2014, my friend John Assaraf is having a replay of his Brainathon webinar. In this webinar, you will learn what is sabotaging you from making more money and how to overcome these mental blocks, and earn the money you truly deserve.

This is an excellent free coaching resource for you to take advantage of. That's right, John is doing the replay and you can attend and learn from the best for free.

I attended this webinar last year and the information blew my mind! John interviews the top experts in Neuro sciences and gives practical steps on how to make the changes that will shatter the glass ceiling that has been holding you back financially.

I first found out about John Assaraf in 2009. I bought some of his books, and even went through one of his courses. The results were astounding. I managed to double the size of my business in 4 months! I was working less and earning more, and life as they say is good.

Since then, John has made steady progress in his study of how the mind affects the success of each individual. He started Praxis Now, which is the latest blend of brain science for maximum success in life.

Please sign up now to reserve your spot. There will be many that want to listen to this webinar. In November over 25,000 signed up to listen to this treasure trove of information. Based on the content I saw, and the feedback I received from my own clients that attended, I can say this is the one must see webinar for this year.

But, you may be thinking, what is different about this webinar? What can I learn?

One of the nuggets of truth I learned was:

You see, your brain is split into two parts: Your rational logical mind and your implicit emotional brain... and the emotional brain is the larger and far more powerful of the two!

If your emotional desires, beliefs and values don't align with your rational mind's goals ... the two parts of your mind will constantly be fighting each other and undermining your ability to succeed at anything, especially your goals to support you and your family.

If you're struggling to break through to the next level of success ... the #1 thing to do is get your logical and emotional minds working in a state of neural coherence... or harmony.

John interviews 5 of the top neuro scientists in the field and will reveal the information you need to break your current income level and start living the life you desire.

Take the time this Saturday to learn the steps that will launch your success for your coaching business.

Sincerely yours,

A new way of writing your to do list

Hello fellow coaches,

It looks like 6 more weeks of winter thanks to the groundhog. We will see. Sometimes when writing you about free coaching resources and tools, I come across a very interesting idea that is not even set up to become an evergreen business.

What I mean by this is, most free coaching tools and resources are meant to be a sales funnel builder that lets you get some free things and then if you like it, you buy more. I have come to expect this over the years. And, I will be the first to say that there is nothing wrong with the free items upfront to build a good relationship with someone that finds your website. But what I will share with you today is a free resource that has no backend "upsell" or free trial subscription. It is simply an idea that can be used to make your time more productive.

For many years now, I have gone from a "things to do" list and a journal, and swapped back and forth. As of this writing, I am using a daily gratitude journal, goal list for this year (broken down by months), a Sunday list (weekly to do list), a daily to do list, and a journal. Five different lists and journals that I refer to daily.

It is difficult to keep up with sometimes. Our lives keep getting busier, and it seems that time is moving faster. Is there a way to integrate these lists all together? Or, at least combine a few for simplicity sake?

Ryder Carroll, of New York City, has developed the Bullet Journal. It's his version of a to do list in a simple monthly and daily breakdown. He has refined this system over the last few years, and he is still improving it. What's even better, he created a website that shows how to use the bullet journal with videos, and it's absolutely free. He doesn't even sell journals! He recommends a few, but you have to go to the site of the manufacturer to find places to buy. It's incredible that someone takes this much care to create a system, and then share it with the world for free.

You can find this site here: http://www.bulletjournal.com/. Again, there is nothing to sign up for. No give me your contact info to see my free stuff. Just his idea with corresponding information to support it.

I have started implementing this in my daily to do lists and my Sunday list. I prefer to keep my gratitude journal and my other journals separate from this system. My lists are about productivity and my journals are about what I am experiencing. However, it is good to have a bullet journal to refer back to when journaling about a past event.

Give it a try and see if it helps you become more productive, or better yet, helps your clients.

Wishing you More Clients, More Money, and More Life!

Free Webinar on Building Your Practice Through Blogging

Hello Fellow Coaches,

At Free Coaching Resources, we are committed to bringing you the latest and best coaching tools and resources that are free. A brand new year has started. You can make this, 2014, your break out year.

One of the things my clients ask me is, "How do I get new prospects when there thousands of coaches already out there?" Or, "What can I do to stand out?" And, "Should I have a blog?"

This is almost always followed up with, "Well, I tried blogging once , and it didn't work." Can you see the problem with that last statement?

As with anything you do in business, and I said business, because your coaching practice is your business, you must have a plan, or a system. And, just like any plan or system, you have trial and error along the way. You have to see what works, and stick with what works. It's not a set it and forget it, but it is a set it and adjust it as needed.

Despite all of the hoopla about blogging, it is the best way to get the low hanging fruit. It is a way to get prospects organically (meaning you are not paying for the traffic.) If you are just starting out, or maybe in a cash slump and need a jump start, blogging may be the one thing that gets you back on track.

Once you are established, it is one of the best ways to keep your presence out there. Whether you are blogging once a week, daily, or anywhere in between, blogging is one tool that you want in your client prospecting toolbox.

But, you may ask, "Why didn't blogging work for me?" There are several reasons for this, but the most common reason I find is this:

The #1 reason people start a blog is that some "expert" said they needed one.
So they...
1. Pick a topic
2. Start a blog
3. Expect traffic to show up

When this doesn't work, coaches quit blogging in frustration. They either go on to the next "silver bullet" or "bright shiny object" to try to generate cash to justify their existence as a coach.

Let me stop for just a minute here, and say: blogging is not the only thing you will need to create and maintain a successful coaching practice.  But, it is one of the things you will have to have in your tool box.

If you have a blog, it will be the one thing people will probably look at before making a decision about going any further in investigating whether or not they want to hire you for coaching. And, remember, they are not hiring a coach, they are buying a solution to their problems.

There is a company out there that specializes in teaching business owners ( remember what I said above coaches) about blogging. Learn to Blog breaks the steps down in bite sized pieces so you are not overwhelmed with insignificant details.

Better yet, they are offering a free webinar on "6 Figure Blog Secrets"  It is tomorrow, and that's short notice, but this is definitely worth your time to attend.
